Riding Mill
Riding Mill is situated on the south side of the Tyne some three miles east of Corbridge. Originally centred around its mill and manor house, the village grew in the 19th century with the arrival of the railway.

One notable building in the village centre is the Wellington Hotel, famous for its connection with a famous trial for witchcraft in 1673.
Just outside the village is a large pumping station, built to transport water from Kielder reservoir over the hills to the south and through a tunnel to the River Wear and then on to the Tees, a massive engineering work which has ensured the region has stayed free of water rationing in even the driest of spells.
Trains travel frequently from Riding Mill to stations on the route to Newcastle and Carlisle.
